September availability

September is coming and the rush of summer will be over.

We have had so many lovely guests in this new and challenging time. It has been lovely to be back up welcoming people, and the yurt has worked well as a private self contained space for holidays and short breaks.

We have plenty of availability in September, a lovely month to come to Kent. Visit the orchards and vineyards near by and revel in the changing season.

With the temperature cooling down, toasty nights by the wood burning stove are in order with a glorious glass of red wine, or a hot mulled cider.

July at the yurt.

It’s been a very busy month since we opened. Our most loyal and favourite guests have been to stay for a whole week, and other lovely regular guests brought familly with them this year too. The weather has been everything from wildly windy, drizzly, wet and sometimes sunny. Everyone has manfully BBQ’d through all weather, lit the wood burner and cosied up reading. And even relaxed on the deck watching the sun go down with a glass of wine.

This weekend is going to be HOT! Yay! So here are pictures of our beautiful beach, where hopefully, we will be and our guests can get a swim and some sand between their toes.

After a hot day…

After a beautiful hot day, we drove to our favourite bit of empty beach at Pett Level, kayaked in the surprisingly choppy sea, and had a blissfull cup of tea watching the sun go down over the marsh. Then back to sleep in the yurt. Lush life! Of course! We have to do these things so we can recomend to our guests.

Midsummer Evening at the yurt.

We are so lucky to have this beautiful place to ourselves for the next couple of weeks before we open to guests.

Evening drinks watching the Barn Owl hunting in the meadow, he flies right in front of us , before doing the circuit of the fields, we think he has young in the wood behind the yurt.

Summer Gardens

June brings an opportunity to visit some beautiful gardens near us.

The famous ‘White Garden’ at Sissinghurst Castle will be in bloom and

the eclectic and fabulous colours of Great Dixter.

Both gardens are 15 minutes drive from our yurt.

On the 6,7,8th of June The Wealden Times Fair is at Hole Park near us. A fabulous cornucopia of delicious things for the home and garden.

The 9th of June is also our excellent Biddenden vineyard’s Food Festival.

There are weekends available in June.

With Spring on the horizon our thoughts are turning to the approaching weeks where we will start getting ready for our new season. Garden to prune, fences to re new, deck to varnish  and then the yurt to put up. It is always exciting, after the winter greyness, to see the buds and shoots of green appearing at last.

Our bookings have started to come in and we look forward to meeting new visitors and some lovely guests who have come back year after year and we now count as friends. Our challenge is to try and intruduce something new every year to the yurt or the garden.

Be sure to follow us to stay up to date!
